The Data Privacy Framework provides a structured approach for U.S. companies to handle cross-border data transfers while adhering to European Union privacy principles and legal requirements. As Bizzabo powers a growing number of in-person, virtual, and hybrid events for multinational organizations, the Data Privacy Framework certification gives these global customers an added layer of confidence that their data is protected.

To join the Data Privacy Framework, a company must self-certify to the Department of Commerce that it complies with the Data Privacy Framework Principles. These include updates to privacy policies, registration processes, and ensuring dispute resolution under the EU-U.S. DPF by data recipients. A participating company’s failure to comply with the Principles is enforceable under U.S. law.
