The Drum has a simple mission: inspire marketers to change the world. However, when you’re one of the top marketing publications in the UK, it’s easy for that message to get lost in a sea of content. So to crystallize their mission statement, The Drum created “Do It Day”, an annual conference that reflects this core philosophy. “Do It Day” brings together marketers from various industries to create campaigns that bring awareness to a global issue. The event takes place in three different countries on the same day and thus involves many moving parts. The Drum strived to produce these events in a way that would bolster their reputation as publishers while also solidifying their mission as a company. An efficient and on-brand event planning experience was the only way forward.

Despite the high bar they set for this event, The Drum initially did not have the right resources in place to live up to the expectations. Each task proved to be more difficult than the next. Creating an event website meant asking help from their already very busy development team. Manually collecting registrations meant using a third party tool that wasn’t integrated with their main website. All of these methods were taking up a lot of time, making it difficult to create a smooth, on-brand event experience.
Prior to using Bizzabo, The Drum had used in-house resources to put on the event. Nearly all of their processes were done manually and the conference team had a difficult time finding streamlined, integrated solutions.
