Canada’s largest city and North America’s fifth most populated municipality, Toronto, also called GTA (the Greater Toronto Area), is home to 6 million people. With a motto of “Diversity Our Strength”, Toronto is one of the most multi-cultural cities in terms of its cultures, languages, arts and people. With a great art scene and large financial hub, there is no doubt that there are great event venues, from historical church spaces to modern lofts and event centers. Here are 30 event venues in Toronto that we think attendees will love. They’re listed in alphabetical order.

1. 99 Sudbury

Located in Toronto’s Art and Design district, 99 Sudbury was originally a restored glass factory, a famed after hour club and a host to restaurants. Flaunting 17 foot beamed ceilings, patio space and natural light, the three spaces at 99 Sudbury, The Glass Factory, The Lounge and 99 Gallery, can cater to your next corporate event.

Located on the 3rd floor of the Thorton-Smith building, this room offers a loft-style space that can fit up to 180 attendees. It features a light-grey Indiana limestone finish, 5 two-story showroom windows with stone arches, and an interior boasting three sky high lights, hardwood floors, brick walls, graffiti chalk-wall and a custom bar. 

3. Arcadian Court

A room of history since 1929, the Arcadian Court was the location of Toronto’s first auto show, the Toronto Symphony Orchestra’s first radio broadcasts, and entertainment by Liberace. This particular ballroom is now a 8089 square foot space, featuring great acoustics, chandeliers, and grand arches. 

4. Archeo

The Archeo features high yellow pine ceilings, concrete floors, brick walls, and novel room dividers for up to 150 people. A Distillery Events Group venue, Archeo can cater to exclusive social and corporate events all year round. 

5. Art Gallery of Ontario

The Baillie Court at the Art Gallery of Toronto offers room for your guests to enjoy 18 foot ceilings, floor-to-ceiling windows offering panoramic views of downtown Toronto. There is also the option of making use of Walker Court, featuring a Frank Gehry-designed staircase, or the Galleria Italia with the view of Dundas Street West. 

6. Arta Gallery

Located in the Distillery District of downtown Toronto, Arta is the perfect space for fundraisers or corporate functions. It allows up to 110 guests for a seated lunch or dinner reception, or 200 for a cocktail reception, and boasts an in house A/V system, tracking light dimmers, and more. Past clients include Google, Ford, and Maybeline. 

7. Berkeley Church and Field House

Both Berkeley Events venues, the heritage charm that is Berkeley Church, built in 1871, features a grand ballroom, a Victorian inspired bar, 17 foot high stained glass windows, and a Circa 1871 lounge. The urban oasis that is the Berkeley Field House features a main room, the Tree House, and a Private Dinner Room. 

8. BMO IFL

BMO Institute for Learning

The BMO Institute flaunts conference facilities for formal galas, business conferences, small working sessions, and more. Some features include 150 guest rooms, Nourishment Hubs™, a 20 meter pool, a whirlpool, a serene large grassed courtyard, a glass-enclosed Grand Hall as well as free parking and Wi-Fi.

9. The Bram & Bluma Appel Salon (at the Toronto Reference Library)

Located on the second floor of the iconic Toronto Reference Library, this unique, contemporary, and versatile venue is ideal for any occasion. The Appel Salon is comprised of the Epic Hall, Prologue, and Novella Room, with a maximum capacity of 575 people, and features beautiful light-filled spaces for any large scale or intimate gathering. 

10. The Burroughes

Purpose built in 1907 with an addition added in 1910, the Burroughes has been defining Queen Street West as the tallest building on this trendy stretch for over 100 years. The building has been expertly renovated to carefully preserve its priceless features. With restored elevators, wood details and exposed brick the property is like no other in the city. Described as a hidden gem by the real estate investment community, while taste makers simply comment that only those who should know, know about the property. Included in the space is the Gallery on the 3rd floor, the top floor, and the rooftop terrace.

11. Cathedral Centre

Located in the heart of downtown Toronto, Cathedral Centre is restored with premier event spaces, including its Snell Hall, Library, Deanery, Boardroom, Lecture Room, and Community Room. Snell Hall is one of Toronto’s most desirable event spaces such as large corporate meetings and fundraisers, thanks to the glass curtain wall, park views and outdoor terrace.

Originally opened in 1930 as “Eaton’s Seventh Floor,” The Carlu was designed by French architect Jacques Carlu. In 2003, the space at 444 Yonge St. in College Park was reopened as “The Carlu” event venue after an extensive restoration. Now recognized as one of Toronto’s best examples of Art Moderne architecture, The Carlu has been designated as a National Historic Site of Canada, and has played host to royalty on several occasions, as the preferred space for high profile social fetes, conventions, and corporate celebrations.

13. Cibo Wine Bar

Also a restaurant, Cibo Wine Bar features butcher-block tables, plush chairs, and a wine bar, and brings an authentic rustic Italian flare with a vibrant nightlife vibe. Not only is the menu filled with exquisite Italian cuisine, but the space is warm and inviting with its rustic elegance. 

14. Columbus Event Centre

The Columbus Event Centre is situated on 4 acres that boasts Mediterranean gardens, water fountains, and gazebos. Centrally located in the GTA, it offers a variety of different rooms that can accommodate groups from 10 to 300 guests, from its elegant ballroom to its contemporary rotunda shaped atrium.

Who knew that this iconic attraction was also one of the city’s top corporate venues? The CN Tower can host your next formal dinner, reception, meeting, product launch, corporate party, for 2 people to 2,000 people. CN Tower offers multiple spaces, including the 360 restaurant and the Maple Leaf Cinema.

16. District 28

District 28

District 28 is a boutique events company located in Toronto’s iconic studio district. You can choose from three unique studios, an in-house screening room, restaurant, and reception area. The white, blank canvas of the event venue allows for your own creative input into hosting your own corporate event, high-end fundraiser, and more. 

17. The Eglinton Grand

Adorned with rich mahogany and ebony woods, elegant marble and period furniture, the Eglinton Grand is a historic landmark from 1936, originally known as the Eglinton Theatre. Its 1930’s art deco décor makes it a breathtaking venue to host a wide range of events. 

18. Estates of Sunnybrook

One of Toronto’s most gracious reception and event venue, the Estates of Sunnybrook is nestled in forty tree-filled and lascaped acres. With an intimate feel, the Estate includes three historic and elegant private event venues, two smaller event venues, and the Vaughan Estate, great for formal ballrooms. This may be a more suburban venue, but it is only minutes away from the GTA. 

19. Evergreen Brick Works

Nestled in Toronto’s lush ravines, this unique setting offers multiple options from an intimate gathering in the BMO Atrium to a 2,000 person standing reception in the Pavilions or CRH Gallery. As Canada’s first large-scale community environmental center, Evergreen Brick Works can cater to your private event. 

20. Fermenting Cellar

Distillery Event’s venue, the Fermenting Cellar was first opened in 1861 as a 1.5 story, limestone structure. Giving off an industrial chic vibe with its heavy timber beams and original limestone walls, the Fermenting Cellar can hold from 200 – 600 people, and includes amenities such as a blank canvas, chattel rentals, and security guards.

21. The Grand Luxe Event Boutique

 The Grand Luxe Event Boutique offers three different rooms: the ballroom (the depicted image), the Parlour (primarily for cocktail receptions and smaller events), and the Bridal Suite/Green Room. The flexible event space at the Boutique makes it a hot spot for corporate and social events. It can even host kosher events with an available on-premise kosher kitchen. 

22. Hotel X

The Hotel X Toronto, scheduled to open sometime this year, will be a unique lakefront urban resort, combining a cutting edge mix of hospitality, sports and entertainment. A certified environmental sustainability project, the Hotel X will have plenty of event space, from Gardens, cinema, conference center level, ballrooms, and more.

Previously known as the Panorama Lounge, The One Eighty is located on the 51st floor of the Manulife Centre. It’s 3,000 square foot interior features a showpiece bar, 21 foot high ceilings, and a view spanning 1,500 square feet of glass panels overlooking downtown and North Toronto.

Parkview Manor displays transitional designs and a blank palette to be transformed into something more modern or elegant, appropriate for the particular event you hold. Minutes from major highways and the core of downtown Toronto, Parkview Manor can hold anywhere from 60 to over 1,600 people.

26. St. Lawrence Centre for the Arts

St. Lawrence Center for the Arts

Located in the heart of Toronto, the St. Lawrence Centre for the Arts offers the Jane Mallett Theatre and Bluma Appel Theatre as rental space. Its spacious lobbies, stocked with fully licensed bars, are perfect for pre and post-show cocktail receptions or sit-down meals, as well as spaces for promotional and display activities.

The Westin Harbor Castle

This particular Westin hotel has over 70,000 square feet of meeting space, flexible outdoor venues, 32 versatile meeting rooms, and an on-site conference center for large meetings. From the Metropolitan Ballroom to the Regatta Room overlooking Lake Ontario, this Toronto event venue can accommodate groups from 10 to 3,000.
