Product Update: Ticket Boost Campaigns, Zapier and More in Bizzabo

Brandon Rafalson

Updated February 14, 2017.

When it comes to organizing events, we know you want to be as data-driven as possible. You want to be able to determine the best tactics for marketing and allow all of the software platforms in your arsenal to communicate with one another.

While Bizzabo currently has awesome integrations with Salesforce, Mailchimp, Tint, and Slack, we know that there’s room for even more connectivity and even more data. That’s why we’ve recently enhanced our Ticket Boost feature, added a Tracking Pixels feature, and created a Zapier Integration––along with several other new integration tools. All of these features are designed to give you the most powerful event success platform, yet.

Meet the New Ticket Boost

Technical Level: Beginner

Available: Released on Monday, 1/30

What’s the big deal?

You already know our awesome Ticket Boost feature, which turns social sharing into a powerful marketing tool that amplifies your event reach and brings in more registrations. We’re now taking it to the next level with several new capabilities and enhancements that make all the difference. For starters, you’ll now be able to customize your campaigns by choosing the specific target audience based on ticket type, tailoring the message that is shared, and customizing the incentive amount based on your choice of segment.

Once you’ve activated your campaign, you’ll then be able to measure data across the board, including revenue, awareness and engagement levels. Finally, you’ll be able to truly grow your event ambassadors base. We’ll send you a real-time notification every time a successful ticket boost generates a new registration. You can then use the platform itself to encourage your greatest advocates to continue sharing the event and thus maximize your social power.

So How do I use it?

Get ready to drive up your event registrations! Now when you go to Ticket Boost via the Promote tab, you’ll find a comprehensive interface that allows you to tweak almost every aspect of your campaign, including:

  • Campaign Name
  • Campaign Description
  • Incentive Type
  • Ticket Type
  • Promotional Copy
  • And More!

Example

Sara wants to increase the number of event registrants for this year’s event by 10% from last year’s. She creates her first Ticket Boost campaign for the event during the winter holiday season, since more people tend to shop during that time of year. Sara then chooses to make the Ticket Boost available only to Standard ticket type registrants. She customizes the copy that will be shared to be a bit more festive and she also sets an incentive amount that creates urgency. After the campaign has been running for two weeks, Sara looks at the data on the number of shares, the reach of shares, top event ambassadors and more. Sara then puts this data to use to improve her future Ticket Boost campaigns.

Connect your paid campaigns to Bizzabo & track performance

Technical Level: Beginner

Available: Yes!

What’s the big deal?

Our new Tracking Pixels feature helps you measure and maximize your event marketing efforts with these tools with marketing tools like Facebook Ads, Adroll and more. By implementing tracking pixels, you will have the ability to report conversions, build audiences and get rich insights about how people use your event websites.

So, how do I use it?

All you need to do is plug in the tracking codes from your marketing tools into the corresponding box in the Tracking Pixels page. We currently support tracking pixels for:

  • Facebook Ads
  • Adroll
  • Hubspot
  • Google Adwords
  • Google Analytics

Once your tracking code is entered in, the corresponding data will be transferred straight to your marketing tools. It’s the end of the assumptions era!

Example

Mark wants to able to track how many people click-through his Facebook ads to his event page. He grabs the Facebook ads tracking code and adds it to the corresponding space in the Bizzabo Tracking Pixels page. He can now accurately track the performance of his ads via The Facebook Ads dashboard.

Connect Bizzabo to more than 500 apps

Technical Level: Beginner

Available: Yes!

What’s the big deal?

Zapier offers you the ability to send information about your registrants and orders directly to your app of choice, including Constant Contact, Hubspot, Xero, and over 500 more! It’s simple, easy, and requires no technical knowledge.

So, how do I use it?

Zapier uses a system of “triggers” and “actions” to help apps communicate with one another. First, select the trigger you want. (At the moment this is “New Order” or “New Registrant”, but let us know if you want more!) Then, select the platform that you’d like Bizzabo to communicate with. Finally, select the action that you want to be taken in the designated platform.

Example

Veronika wants to send every new event registrant to Hubspot (the marketing automation platform she uses) as a new contact or an existing one. With the Zapier integration, now she can! Veronika sets the Zapier trigger to “New Registrant.” She then selects Hubspot and clicks the action to “Create/Update Contact”. Whenever someone registers for the event, they will be entered into Veronika’s Hubspot database.

WebHooks

Technical Level: Intermediate

Available: Yes!

What’s the big deal?

Like Zapier, event organizers can use Webhooks to send data from one app to another after an action is completed. Even though Zapier can communicate with over 500 apps, it still has it’s limitations. By offering you both Webhooks and Zapier, we’re pretty much allowing you to automatically send any piece of data collected through Bizzabo to anywhere you’d like across the web. Yes, this is awesome. Time to celebrate.

So, how do I use it?

Unlike Zapier, Webhooks require a little bit of coding knowledge, but it also allows you to send data to a wider range of apps. First, a client will create a coded URL for whatever system they want to receive data from Bizzabo. They will then plug that coded URL into the Webhooks interface and pair it with one of three triggers e.g. new registrations.

Example

George wants every registrant to get a username and a password for the server system that is hosting his upcoming webinar. George writes code for a specific URL on his server system and then enters that coded URL into the Webhooks interface. Now, whenever anyone registers via Bizzabo, their data is automatically sent to the coded URL where it is rephrased and synced with his online system. Magic.

Open API

Technical Level: Advanced

Available: Yes!

What’s the big deal?

Looking for an in-depth way to pull data from Bizzabo to other places on the internet? Then the Open API is for you. It is perfect for event organizers who would like to sync their data in Bizzabo with additional systems, have coding capabilities, and find Zapier options to be too limited for their purposes.

So, how do I use it?

The Open API is the most technical option on this list, but it also is the most comprehensive. With the Open API you can:

  • Pull specific event properties
  • Pull specific contact properties
  • Pull a list of contacts from a specific event
  • Pull registrants in a list from a specific event
  • Pull a sessions list from a specific event
  • Update registrant details

Example

Melanie is using Bizzabo, but she wants to use an on-site system to print badges and check in attendees. Plus, she also wants to pull data from the Bizzabo system and display it on TV’s across the event floor. Luckily, Melanie is also an ace at coding. With the Open API she can seamlessly sync the event data from the Badges and Attendee List pages of the Bizzabo platform to her on-site system. She then uses the Open API to pull data to display on her TV system. Huzzah!
